Arsenal forward Danny Welbeck has hailed the duo of Alexis Sanchez and Eden Hazard, revealing that he voted the latter as the PFA Player of the Year.
Welbeck of course, was unable to vote for Sanchez as he plays alongside him in north London, but he insisted that the Chilean, who joined the Gunners from Spanish giants Barcelona last summer, has been a 'special' player this season.
Sanchez, much like Hazard has been the talisman for his side throughout the course of the campaign, and Welbeck certainly recognises the duo as two of the Premier League's best players.
Hazard, of course, secured the Player of the Year award, while Sanchez picked up a place in the Team of the Year.
And Welbeck, as reported by the London Evening Standard, has insisted that it wasn't a surprise to see Sanchez nominated for the top prize, as he told reporters: “It was no surprise to see Alexis nominated.
"He has been one of the special players this season and he’s proved that time and again. I couldn’t vote for him though as a team-mate."
Welbeck certainly appreciates the talents of Hazard, too, as he's insisted that the Chelsea man is a dangerous player.
The former Manchester United man continued by saying: “I voted for Eden Hazard. I just love watching the way he plays, the way he influences games. He’s always a dangerous player at any time of the game, anywhere on the pitch.
"He can make that difference and since he has come to the Premier League, he has got better every year. He keeps getting better and this season he’s been top class. I had to vote for him.”
There's no doubt about it, Hazard and Sanchez have been two of the standout forwards in the Premier League this term. Direct and powerful, they've been a class apart at times, managing to both create and score goals for their sides.
If they both keep up their current form, then they may well battle each other for the PFA's top award once again next season.
Ultimately, though, the league title is the most important thing for both players, so Sanchez may have to improve his game even further if he's going to lead the Gunners to Premier League glory in 2015/16. Hazard has done that admirably on this occasion.
