Wrestling legend Booker T has been forced to apologize after he made some insensitive remarks about the late superstar Owen Hart.
Hart fell to his death during a wrestling match in 1999, and last night Booker T said on Raw that the deceased star didn't defy gravity during his career.
What was an initially innocent remark on Raw caused fans to take to social media to criticize Booker T, before he eventually apologized on Twitter later on.
"Booker T is receiving a lot of heat from fans on social media after a comment he made about the late Owen Hart on tonight's RAW. During Neville vs. Luke Harper in the King of the Ring tournament, JBL and Booker T were talking about how Neville could be the first high-flying King in WWE," NoDQ reported.
"JBL commented that Owen was a high-flyer but not like Neville and Booker said Owen "didn't defy gravity" like Neville. It seemed innocent the way he said it but there appeared to be activity on the headset as there was a bit of awkwardness after the line."
Compelled to say sorry
Safe to say that Booker T felt compelled to the heavy criticism of his comments, and he did so via Twitter, explaining, "I would never say anything to disrespect the legacy of Owen Hart. If I did offend anyone, I apologize."
