Well, now that King Henry has given Olivier Giroud his ultimatum, it perhaps only adds to the reasons why Arsenal can win the Premier League crown with the incumbent centre-forward taking the front seat.
First, Giroud has a knack for proving his knockers wrong. With Thierry Henry on his tail like that, he’s going to improve upfront. When Giroud arrived at the Emirates three years ago, he had it tough.
Not everyone is able to settle down in England like our Alexis Sanchez. Critics and the media in general didn’t like him because he was not Robin van Persie. He was not as prolific as expected, being the great Van Persie’s replacement.

Probably then, only one man trusted Giroud would perform eventually, and hey, here he is chalking up 18 goals in 27 appearances in all competitions, so far this season. Given the time and space, he will accomplish, no doubt.
Further, with all due respect, Henry too had initially struggled in the Premier League, because after many challenging months in England, he acknowledged that he had to ‘be re-taught everything about the art of striking’.

However, then under the mentoring and coaching of Arsene Wenger, he went on to become an astounding striker and Arsenal’s all-time top scorer.
As such, Giroud, with his inherent build and strength, physical style of footballing, heading ability, shot power and a talent for link-up play, he too is no lesser than any eminent striker. All that is needed, I think, is some further fine-tuning to his shooting accuracy.
In addition, with the impending return of Lukas Podolski from Inter Milan, it is safe to say all looks well at Arsenal’s striking department. Podolski adds the elements of intelligence and technical nuances to the physical prowess of Giroud.
No need to reinforce
Of course, the team prefers the idea of a lone striker but then again, so why throw money and get Gonzalo Higuain when these two guys could do the trick? Besides, there is a lingering risk of Higuain being unable to adapt to English football as quickly as Alexis, which needs to be considered as well.
Further, Mesut Ozil is back to his best form. He created nine goal-scoring chances in the recently concluded FA Cup’s semi-final match against Reading, of which two were effectively converted into goals.
Hence, with the support from him, Podolski, Alexis and the likes, Giroud can rise to the occasion. Don't listen to Henry - Arsenal can lift the coveted Premier League title with Giroud.
