Adrian Peterson's future has been dominating the agenda for much of the NFL offseason, trade talk circulating around the controversial running back even before he was officially reinstated.
We haven't heard much from the player himself though - his agent doing most of the talking as he tries his best to get his client out of Minnesota.
Until now that is, with Peterson having spoken out on his future when quizzed on the subject whilst attending a recent NBA game in Dallas.

Trade talk may have died down a little as we approach the NFL Draft - the Vikings holding firm on the sky high offer they'd have to receive to even think of giving up the RB - but that hasn't stopped Peterson admitting he would be more than happy to end up playing in his native state with the Dallas Cowboys.

Peterson's comments won't sit well with Vikings fans, or staff, hoping to see him bury the hatchet and buckle down for the franchise in the 2015 season. They may though spark hope from Cowboys fans hoping for an upgrade on projected starter Darren McFadden.
Dallas no go
In tempering his response though with talk of his current contract, even AP must now know that the Dallas move is nothing more than a pipe dream.
The Cowboys had been linked strongly with a move for AP in recent weeks but, despite having had a long standing interest in bringing the 10,000 yard runner onboard, fresh reports this week effectively ruled them out of a move.
Not only did Stephen Jones say the franchise wouldn't be interested in trading away draft picks for a "veteran" running back, but it was revealed that the Cowboys haven't even called Minnesota once to discuss a possible trade.
Indeed, with other supposed interest parties (Falcons, Jaguars) having also ruled themselves out of a trade deal it may be wise for Adrian Peterson to buckle down and accept that he will be a key part of the Vikings offense come Week One of the 2015 season.
He may like the idea of playing for the Cowboys but, in reality, the only chance he will have to play in front of a packed house at AT&T Stadium is August 29th when Minnesota travel to Dallas for a preseason fixture.
