Thierry Henry is arguably the greatest player to grace the Premier League, and undoubtedly the finest to wear an Arsenal shirt. Now taking the step into punditry, Henry has shown he is not just a genius on the field.
After signing a multi-million pound deal with UK broadcaster Sky, Henry has shown his analytical eye on more than one occasion. His analysis of Francis Coquelin after Arsenal's 2-0 away win against Manchester City showed something to me - Henry could be the man to take Arsenal forward.
Regarding Arsenal, Henry has been very up front and brutal in his analysis. After the 0-0 draw at the Emirates Stadium last Sunday, Thierry mentioned how Jose Mourinho identified the weakness in Chelsea's spine and fixed it.
He also went on to say Arsene Wenger has failed to do so. He said in a nutshell what all Arsenal fans think; to win the league we need a great goalkeeper, great defensive midfielder and a top quality striker.
Although there was little to no tact in what he said, Henry demonstrated his know-how of winning the league and what makes a great team.
The question poses, with Arsene Wenger always guiding Arsenal to near misses, is Henry the right man to take over? I believe he is.
He knows what is needed to make a great team, he knows where tactically Arsenal are going wrong and his love for the club speaks for itself.
I don't think now is the right time for Wenger to step down, because let's face it, with no real experience and only a UEFA B licence, Henry would have a season similar to that of David Moyes at Old Trafford.
In two years, however, with Henry further qualified and with more valuable experience gained, he may well be the man to lead Arsenal back to their glory days.
