Manchester United are poised to win the race to sign Burnley striker Danny Ings.
This is according to talkSPORT, who understand United are in advanced talks with the England Under-21 international’s representatives and should now secure his signature.
Ings, who is out of contract this summer, has also been linked with Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham and Real Sociedad in recent weeks - but it seems the 22-year-old will become a Manchester United player prior to the 2015-16 campaign.

Last month it was reported that United boss Louis van Gaal had instructed the club’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward to seal a move for Ings, who has scored nine Premier League goals for relegation-threatened Burnley this season.
The lively forward caught Van Gaal’s eye back in February, when he scored with a fine diving header against the Red Devils in a 3-1 defeat for Burnley at Old Trafford.

Ings suffering a goal drought
Incidentally, Ings has failed to score for Burnley in the Premier League since then - a concerning run of nine matches without a goal, which has coincided with the Clarets’ dismal recent run of form.
Burnley, five points from safety with four matches left to play, are expected to be relegated to the Championship and their manager Sean Dyche has been resigned to the fact he will lose Ings this summer for some time now.
While Ings has shown this season he can cut it in the Premier League, some Manchester United fans may fear the 5ft 10in forward is not an upgrade on either Radamel Falcao or Javier Hernandez, both of whom are expected to leave Old Trafford this summer.
Do United need better?
Reports this week revealed Van Gaal plans to convert winger Adnan Januzaj into a striker, starting in pre-season, and the Belgium international could find himself competing for a forward place next season alongside Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie and Ings.
James Wilson, meanwhile, is likely to be loaned out to another Premier League club.
Could Manchester United seriously challenge for both the Premier League and Champions League titles with the four aforementioned strikers as their main options?
That’s the question Louis van Gaal is surely discussing with his fellow coaches at Old Trafford right now.
