When WWE went on their European Tour the week after WrestleMania this year, Finn Balor was the odds-on favourite to get the call up from NXT in his home country.
The Irish Superstar even tweeted that he was in the building and waiting for the call from Vince to make his main roster debut.
In an interview with AfterBuzz TV this week, the wrestler who found fame under the name of Prince Devitt, stated that he was backstage ready in his gear in London and was set to be the one to reply to John Cena's open challenge, but Dean Ambrose got their first.

He said: “Well, believe it or not, in London when John was in the ring making the open challenge, I was actually putting my gear on trying to get into the ring…but I just got beat to the punch."
It seems more and more likely every week that Finn is about to make his main roster debut, but it seems that WWE and Vince want to make his debut a really big deal and allow him to come out dressed as the demon just for the people who don't watch NXT and don't know much about the superstar.

With Kevin Owen still out with a knee injury and NXT recorded weeks in advance, it seems Balor is being kept in NXT for a while to keep up the competition, but as soon as Owen is back and defending his title, Balor will be available and much like Charlotte, will wait on the call up.
Balor also talked about NXT in his recent interview and who he thought was the most underrated, he said:
“There’s a lot of guys you know, obviously for different reasons. One guy you know I think doesn’t get the credit he deserves is Scott Dawson. He’s a tremendous, tremendous competitor and I would love to get in there one-on-one with him. I’m also a big fan of Enzo and Cass. I don’t know how that would work with teaming up with them in a six man tag team, but I’m a big fan of their work too.”
Enzo and Cass and Blake and Murphy will be welcome additions to the main roster tag team division that is currently led by The New Day.
But whilst The Usos, Cesaro and Tyson Kidd and The Lucha Dragons are all going after the tag titles, it doesn't seem like the right time to call these guys up, but it could see a huge table turn in the division in a few months time.
