On-loan Manchester United striker Angelo Henriquez scored a hat-trick as Dinamo Zagreb thrashed RNK Split to secure a 10th successive Croatian league title.

The Chilean scored three times within 57 minutes as Dinamo pumped five goals past the opposition to move 15 points clear at the summit of the table and, as ever, bring the league title back to Zagreb.

Henriquez has been in fine form since his season-long loan move from Old Trafford, finding the net on 17 occasions during his 22 appearances. It will be interesting to see what the future holds form him.

The 21-year-old signed for Manchester United from Universidad de Chile almost three years ago but has yet to be afforded a competitive debut for the Red Devils. He has instead been out on loan three times, with this his most fruitful spell.

Manchester United are certainly not short of centre-forwards and, even if Louis van Gaal does get rid of Radamel Falcao and Robin van Persie in the summer transfer window, Henriquez’s first-team prospects may not be particularly promising.

He has been linked with a move to Juventus at the end of the season and, of late, has been able to prove that he will be an asset to the right club, but that may not be Manchester United.

It would certainly be a shame if he is to depart having never been given an opportunity to prove himself in the first-team, and should still harbour hope that he, like many young players at the club, will eventually get a chance under Van Gaal.
