Is 4th spot really enough for Arsenal players and fans alike?
Following the 0-0 home draw against Chelsea, Jose Mourinho slated Arsenal fans for their chants towards his team. 'Boring, Boring Chelsea' were directed at Mourinho’s men mainly because of their defensive set up more commonly known as 'Parking the bus'. The Portuguese manager responded saying: “going 10 years without winning the title, that is boring."
With them words strongly hitting home for Arsenal players and fans alike, do Arsenal really have what it takes to be challenging for the title anytime soon?
This was Wenger’s 13th meeting with Mourinho and he is still yet to beat the prestigious Portuguese.
It is still yet to be seen where about Arsenal will finish as they currently sit in third place, behind Manchester City on goal difference but the Gunners have a game in hand. Will they finish in the top four and win the FA up? Will that be enough for Arsenal players and fans alike?
Arsenal have been the inform team this calendar year, having not lost a single match at the Emirates barring the defeat to Monaco in the Champions League. All of the players came out after this “boring” 0-0 draw with Chelsea, saying that next year is their year; how many teams have we heard this though.
Wenger himself has said: “There is not a lot between both sides” so why is it that Chelsea are so far ahead in the title chance?
Arsenal Legend Thierry Henry has stated that with a few additions mainly at central midfield and a backup goalkeeper, The gunners will be right up there and challenging on all fronts next year.
