Frank Lampard congratulates Chelsea on title win

Published 34 Comments

Manchester City midfielder Frank Lampard has congratulated former club Chelsea after Jose Mourinho's side secured the Premier League title yesterday afternoon.

The Blues beat Crystal Palace 1-0 at Stamford Bridge to secure their first title in five years, and Lampard has sent a message on Instagram to the club he left behind this past summer.

Lampard, of course, completed a surprise loan move to Manchester City at the start of the campaign, however is still regarded by many as a Chelsea legend.

And, despite plying his trade for the Citizens, the ex-England man certainly seems pleased by the club's achievements under the guidance of Jose Mourinho this term.

Writing on Insatgram, the veteran stated: "A massive congratulations to all my old teammates and friends at @chelseafc for winning the Premier League. A huge achievement and well deserved by everyone at the club.

"Also to all those fantastic fans that I had the pleasure to play for for 13 years. I know how much it means to you all! Enjoy the celebrations in West London tonight!"

Well deserved

And Lampard, along with the majority in England, appears to be well aware that Chelsea have been head and shoulders above the rest throughout the course of the campaign.

There's no doubt about it, led by John Terry, the likes of Cesc Fabregas, Eden Hazard, Nemanja Matic and Co. have been marvellous throughout, and will no doubt take some stopping next season too.

Chelsea's rivals must improve this summer, or risk falling even further behind Jose Mourinho and Co. in 2015/16.
