Adidas have revealed more about their new miCoach Smart Football which they say is the 'smartest ball in the game'.
The German sportswear giant say the ball carries a sensor inside of it, which can instantly feed back information and data such as kick speed, power and trajectory to a mobile device in order to improve a player's technique.
"I think in 10 years time we'll be seeing a ball on the pitch that is measuring every kick, every touch of a player and sending that data back in real time to the fans so you can actually see how hard the kick or the spin was," says Tony from Adidas.
"It's just a great way of improving and training on your own if you are really focussed and want to be the best you can be then its products like this that enable you to do that."
Adidas say that the sensor is mounted in the middle of the ball which is supported by tough kevlar strings to ensure it remains in place regardless of the power of the shot.
The ball was initially unveiled last year and is now on sale from Adidas for £145.
