Van Gaal linked with Sir Alex Ferguson’s old target

Published Add your comment

He’s been linked with Manchester United for about three years now and he was registered as one of Sir Alex Ferguson’s last transfer targets before the Scot’s retirement, now Argentinian defender Ezequiel Garay finds himself on Louis van Gaal’s summer wish-list. That’s according to Italian TV station Sport MediaSet, who claim that Garay could be available for as little as €18 million. As Van Gaal looks to bring in a new centre-back this could well be a credible claim, although the defender, now playing for Zenit St. Petersburg, has yet to comment on the speculation. Meanwhile Ashley Young’s renaissance at Old Trafford looks to be complete, with Van Gaal said to be ready to offer him a new £120k-a-week contract that would run for three years. Quite the turnaround from the flop who ate bird poo last season, we’re sure you’ll agree.
