Louis van Gaal has taken it upon himself to try and secure the services of one of his biggest supposed transfer targets for the summer, Memphis Depay, and is already in talks with the midfielder. According to reports in Holland the Dutch coach is aiming to pip Premier League rivals Liverpool to Depay’s signature by making use of the relationship the pair already have from his time in charge of the Netherlands. It’s said the requested fee of €25 million won’t be a problem for United, and that PSV and the player’s agent have given their permission for said negotiations to take place. In other news United might pull out of pursuing a deal for Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale this summer, as they’re not convinced by his recent form and Florentino Perez is holding out for at least £80 million. United are rich, but they're not that rich, it would seem.
