Mattia Perin can solve Arsenal's long-standing goalkeeper problem

Mattia Perin could be the long term answer to Arsenal's long-standing goalkeeping problems.

I believe that the Gunners should sign the 22-year-old stopper. I have watched a lot of Genoa's games in Serie A this season and they are organised and entertaining.

The club sit seventh in the table and could make it to Europe. In addition Genoa's lofty rank in the league, in my opinion, is partly down to their goalkeeper Perin.

The Italian international's top performances have made him a target for many clubs including Arsenal and Premier League rivals Liverpool in the summer transfer window.

The Londoners currently have a exceptionally talented goalkeeper in David Ospina, and Wojciech Szczesny, Emilliano Martinez as back ups. However, Martinez is young and lacks experience, and it seems like Szczesny has lost his confidence so it would be a right move to sign a goalkeeper in the summer.

Arsenal must capture the player now while the he is not being contacted by other clubs. In the past, the Reds have been linked or have targeted a player, but have lost the bid for the player's signature.

Not so long ago, the club had tried to sign Manuel Neuer, however, the German shot stopper committed his future to Bayern Munich.

It would be a shame if they do not sign the man worth 20 million euros as he could possibly end Arsene Wenger's long search for a goalkeeper.

Despite signing a new player between the sticks, not everyone is satisfied. Mattia Perin is a player which fits the manager's vision as Arsene  Wenger is famously known for buying and developing young talent.

Also, I would back him to replicate the success of club legend and fan favourite David Seaman. If Arsenal are to win the Premier League title in the future, he may be one of  the major contributors alongside other future Gunners stars in Hector Bellerin and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
