Arsene Wenger says manager could have ruined Calum Chambers career

Published Add your comment

Arsene Wenger believes Roy Hodgson could have ruined Calum Chambers’ career by calling him into the England squad this season. The Arsenal boss says that a poor performance this early on in his career could psychologically damage his young defender. Staying with Arsene Wenger and the boss has ruled out the prospect of signing a new centre-back this summer, insisting he has plenty of options in the position already. Wenger says that fact that Mathieu Debuchy and NAcho Monreal can fill in when required means he won't move in the transfer market. And finally Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin insists he has no regrets about leaving Barcelona, and says his decision to move to the Emirates Stadium has been vindicated now that he's made a senior breakthrough in north London.
