Daniel Bryan fans received some more terrible news last night after it was revealed that the star wrestler has vacated the Intercontinental Title.
Bryan was forced to make the decision because of a shoulder injury, and now the WWE are in a stage of planning to see who they should make the next Intercontinental Champion.
The former WWE champion made an emotional statement on Monday to the WWE Universe during which he made a shock revelation, according to reports.
Huge career statement
"They don't know how long I'll be out. They said maybe weeks, maybe months," Bryan revealed. "They said I might never be able to wrestle again. You deserve to have WWE Superstars fighting for this championship."
In an update on the situation it has been revealed today that the decision was made by the WWE only after Bryan received his MRI results that ruled him out for more than a month.
NoDQ reports that Bryan will not be competing in WWE for at least a month, but they explained that he is still scheduled to work Sunday's Payback pay-per-view.
"The decision for Daniel Bryan to vacate the WWE Intercontinental Title was made on May 8th after Bryan and WWE officials received MRI results on his shoulder," NoDQ reported on Tuesday.
"WWE had been hoping Bryan would be back in action by later this month but that was ruled out when they got the MRI results.
"Bryan is not scheduled for this week's SmackDown tapings but is still scheduled to work Sunday's Payback pay-per-view and next week's WWE TV tapings, possibly working an angle to start the process to crown a new champion."
