There were several big announcements made during last night's edition of Monday Night Raw, with one in particular sure to please the WWE Universe.
It was announced last year that WWE was set to reveal a shake up to its pay-per-view event schedule by scrapping the Elimination Chamber show which originally had its slot in February.
In October of last year, it became known that WWE were making plans to instead produce a pay-per-view event with a title along the lines of 'Fast Lane'.
With that event having taking place in February this year, it came as a huge surprise to followers of WWE when it was shared during last night's episode of Monday Night Raw that the Elimination Chamber event was to be reinstated into the schedule this year.
In a calendar made up of yet more changes, the event is set to be taking place later this month, with the Payback pay-per-view event being next on the list this coming Sunday night.
As if the news of the return of the event was not exciting enough, WWE also revealed their plans to put two title fights on the match card for Elimination Chamber near the end of May.
The event is set to feature a WWE Intercontinental Championship match as well as a WWE Tag Team Championship match with the contenders of each set to be decided over the coming weeks.
It has also become clear why the decision was made by the company to bring back the Elimination Chamber event, let alone put such exciting matches on the card.
The confirmed idea was reportedly made as recently as the last two days, with the structural aspects being the main reason for both the removal of the event last year and the inclusion of it in 2015.
It has been said that as so many arenas have been undergoing construction work, there have been fewer which are able to hold an event as big as the Elimination Chamber.
For the date in May this year however, the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi will play host to the extravaganza as they are able to do so.
In addition, as WWE are also scheduled to be carrying out their television tapings in Texas that week, it made this location the ideal place for the welcomed pay-per-view.
The event will also benefit the company as well as subscribers to the WWE Network, as it has been revealed that this will be the platform which exclusively hosts the show on the night.
