Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has been speaking about his relationship with Jose Mourinho in an interview with Spanish radio station Cadena Cope, at which point he took the opportunity to thank the Portuguese coach for making his move to Stamford Bridge possible.
The former Arsenal captain joined the newly crowned Premier League champions from Barcelona last summer, and has enjoyed an impressive debut campaign in west London after helping the Blues lift the title.
Mourinho played an instrumental role in Fabregas' decision to switch allegiances in England, and he believes his bond with his new mentor has gone from strength to strength as the season's progressed.

"I go day by day. I started out very strong, playing my natural game and trying to give my best," he was quoted saying by the London Evening Standard. "Little by little, the relationship between him and me has improved.
"I believe our [relationship] is very strong, we get on very well, I have learned a lot from him and I am grateful to him for everything he did to bring me to Chelsea and for trusting in me."

Of course, Fabregas has worked with some of the finest coaches in world football having spent time under Arsene Wenger at the Emirates and Pep Guardiola at Camp Nou, but he credits Mourinho for helping take his game to the next level.
The 28-year-old has contributed a mightily impressive 18 assists in the league in 2014/15 and played a starring role in not only Chelsea's domestic title triumph, but also their successful capture of the Capital One Cup.
He's already established himself as a firm fans' favourite in west London and Gunners supporters must be kicking themselves that Wenger turned down the option to re-sign Fabregas at the end of last season, especially when you consider the huge impact he's had this term.
The £200,000-a-week star has certainly been worth every penny of the £27 million that Chelsea paid Barca for his services last June, as they've had a brilliant return on that investment already.
And, under Mourinho's guidance there's no reason why Fabregas can't continue to improve and play an even more important role for the club next year.
