Manchester United's chances of signing Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti will increase if Paul Pogba moves to the Ligue 1 moneybags this summer, according to the Daily Mail.
The report claims that Laurent Blanc's side are pushing hard to secure the signature of Pogba, who previously starred at Old Trafford under the guidance of Sir Alex Ferguson.
Pogba, of course, is now recognised as one of the leading midfielder in world football and has also been linked with a stunning move to United's Premier League rivals Manchester City in recent time.

It appears, though, that despite City's interest, PSG are determined to secure the signature of the Frenchman, which could ultimately have a knock on effect on Verratti this summer.
If the report is to be believed, then PSG will need a big sale as they go about sticking to the rules of Financial Fair Play. Perhaps, then, if Pogba does complete a summer move to the French giants, then United will step up their interest in Verratti.

It's no secret that Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is looking to increase his options in the middle of the park this summer, with the same report claiming that the Red Devils still hold an interest in Borussia Dortmund man Ilkay Gundogan.
Verratti, though, would make quite the signing for the Red Devils, with the player already a regular for the Italian national side at just 22-years of age. Unsurprisingly, it looks set to be an extremely busy summer for a number of Europe's big-boys, but it may well take one or two movements to really get things going.
Verratti and Gundogan are ideal
At the end of the day, it's extremely unlikely that the United hierarchy will bring both Verratti and Gundogan to the Theatre of Dreams in the next window, but either player would make an excellent signing for the club as they go about making a real challenge for the Premier League title next term.
At the end of the day, both players would bring a great deal of energy to the side, as they're both able to roam around the middle of the park, attempting to dictate play. We're all well aware that United need a long term successor for Michael Carrick, so the club's summer plans should excite fans.
In truth, Gundogan may well be the cheaper option for the club, but his injury problems may well worry one or two, whilst Verratti looks set for stardom and is the younger out of the pair.
