Tickets for Manchester United’s pre-season friendly with Barcelona in the USA are being priced at over £1000, reports The Independent.

The match will take place on the 25th of July in the 68,500-seater Levi Stadium and fans will be forced to buy tickets to watch an MLS game the day before.

There is no option to opt out of buying a ticket to see San Jose Earthquakes take on Houston Dynamo.

Officials at the Levi Stadium are trailing a tier system similar to that used in the UK with prices fluctuating depending on where you sit.

The cheapest available seats are priced around $75 where as the most expensive tickets are priced over $1500.

Cheaper seats

Manchester United will also play Club America on their tour of the US but tickets for that game are priced more appropriately ranging from $45- $145.

Chelsea will also play Barcelona three days after Manchester United do but prices for that game don’t rise to the astronomical prices as United do. Tickets will range from $67- 456.

PSG prices

Ligue 1 champions PSG will also be America for the friendly competition but again prices are nowhere near those set for Barcelona’s match with Manchester United.

PSG will play United at the end of July where Memphis Depay, who chose United over PSG could feature in Chicago. Prices to see that match range from $90-$659.

Manchester United have happy memories of playing in the USA under LVG as they were unbeaten when they visited last season which included a win against real Madrid in front of 109,000.
