The race for the Intercontinental Championship seems wide open at the moment, with a whole host of superstars having the chance to snare the second biggest prize in the WWE.
Daniel Bryan came out on Raw this week and revealed that he would have to relinquish the title that he won in that excellent ladder match at WrestleMania earlier this year, thanks to a recurrence of the shoulder injury that kept him out for a big chunk of 2014.
After Bryan's announcement that dismayed the fans in attendance at Raw in Cincinnati, the WWE revealed that they would be holding an Elimination Chamber pay-per-view where the new winner would be decided.
However, it seems like the WWE may have already got ahead of themselves and let the cat out of the bag. POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHEAD.
According to a report from Wrestling Inc, adverts that have been sent out promoting shows after the Elimination Chamber apparently reveal that Sheamus will take over from Bryan as the new Intercontinental Champion.
The WWE Network is free this month and the company have decided to host two separate pay-per-views live on it this month in an attempt to attract some new subscribers. Payback is taking place this weekend, with Seth Rollins defending the WWE Championship in a fatal four way against Randy Orton, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose.
Rollins is expected to retain the title some way or another at Payback, whilst a potential Dean Ambrose heel turn has also been speculated about, while others have brought up the possibility of a potential reunion of The Shield.
Elimination Chamber on the other hand will feature the IC Title bout as it's main event, with Sheamus, Dolph Ziggler, Bad News Barrett and Neville all expected to take part. The Network special takes place on Sunday, May 31st. It will also see the tag team titles being put up for grabs, with Champions New Day taking on Cesaro and Kidd and maybe more.
