It is of no surprise that Gareth Bale is linked away from the Bernabau this summer and realistically other than Manchester United, Manchester City, PSG and Chelsea; there aren't many teams that would be able to afford to sign him.

Chelsea have declared interest in the Welsh international who signed for Madrid for a record-breaking fee of £85.3 million in 2013. However, the SpanishgGiants have made it known that they want to make a profit on the sale. Is he really worth this?

In his final season at Tottenham, Bale scored 21 goals in the Barclays Premier League and guided them single-handedly to fourth position the season before, at this time the price paid seemed justified.

This season he has scored only 13 goals in 29 appearances in La Liga so it would only seem right that his value would have decreased.

This also leaves us with the question, if he was to sign for Chelsea, where would he fit in there squad?

Both Eden Hazard and Willian are in excellent form and it would seem unnecessary to replace them for a player whom is prone to injuries and currently struggling. Surely Abromovic wouldn't consider this after splashing out £50 million for Fernando Torres back in 2011.
