Arsenal are considering a surprise summer move for Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, should they fail in their bid to sign Petr Cech from Chelsea. The Foxes stopper has impressed during his debut season in the Premier League, and could well have earned himself a big-money transfer to one of the division's big-boys. Liverpool have also been mooted as an admirer of the Denmark international, but the prospect of playing in the Champions League probably gives the Gunners the upper hand. Schmeichel is happy at the King Power Stadium, particularly as Nigel Pearson's side look set to retain their top-flight status next season. However, the 28-year-old would find the chance to move to the Emirates an opportunity too good to turn down, especially if he's being signed with a view to taking the No.1 spot in north London.
