Kuwait defender Mohammad Al Azmi scored a disastrous own goal which gave Riffa a 2-1 victory in Group D of the 2015 AFC (Asian Football Confederation) Cup.

With 16 minutes to go a cross was whipped in from the right-hand side and Al Azmi misjudged the bounce, slicing the ball into his own net.

Riffa took the lead after 15 minutes through Sayed Ahmed but his effort was cancelled out by Abdullah Al Buraiki just five minutes later.

The game looked destined for a draw until Al Azmi's blunder restored Riffa's lead and they managed to hold on to collect their second win of the campaign.

The result itself is not disastrous for Kuwait as the three-time champions had already secured their place in the last 16.
