TNA Impact Wrestling moving to Wednesday night and other updates

It’s been a mixed time of late for Dixie Carter and her TNA Impact Wrestling company.

The move to the Discovery-owned Destination America has faced renewed criticism from wrestling news reporters despite the show still delivering the highest ratings on DestAm each and every week.

The news below seems to prove otherwise, but prior to that came the news that talent hadn’t been paid on time by TNA. Wrestlers such as Manik and Matt Hardy took to Twitter to defend the company, which added potentially more fuel to the fire and should have been dealt with by TNA’s media team - but that’s the wrestling business for you!

Also longtime commentator Tazz left the company to concentrate on his podcast career with whispers of a pay dispute with TNA doing the rounds, but from a fans standpoint it no bad thing going forward as Tazz’s play-by-play wasn’t thrilling fans or adding to the TV product in any positive way.

As one door closes another opens and in walks Smashing Pumpkins frontman, poet and wrestling fan Billy Corgan to join up and head the TNA creative department.

His presence was felt in the Live show on DestAm last week (8th May) as story lines linked together and some joined up thinking, current story lines gained relevance.

That included a feud that hasn’t quite captured fans imagination yet as MVP and the BDC stated they didn’t care about wrestling.

Here is the full info provided by TNA Impact on the move from Friday nights to Wednesday in their domestic market -

Destination America’s IMPACT WRESTLING, will make a permanent move to Wednesday nights at 9/8c beginning Wednesday, 3rd June 2015.

The mid-week knockout premiere will kick off with stellar matches showcasing America’s favorite wrestlers.

The tag teams will head to epic battles with The Wolves and the Dirty Heels competing in match three of the Best of 5 Series on their quest to capture the vacated TNA Tag Team Title, and The Rising and the BDC are at war battling it out in a six-man tag team matchup.

TNA World Champion Kurt Angle will compete in the main event and the Knockouts will be in action featuring the Dollhouse and Brooke.
