Payback is officially in the books and it has been very well received by the WWE Universe and for good reason.
The event never actually witnessed a title change as all three champions who put their championships on the line managed to retain.
Despite any real shocks or title changes, the night will go down as one of the best in 2015 after the fans bore witness to two great matches.
The Fatal 4-Way for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship has been described by some after the match as WrestleMania worthy.
Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, Randy Orton and Seth Rollins made for a very entertaining match with the nods back to the former Shield and the use of the Pedigree to get Rollins the win.
Whilst the main event lived up to its billing, the United States Championship match between John Cena and Rusev will also be remembered for a long time to come.
The two have had some memorable matches in the last four PPVs but their last will surely go down as their best.
It ended in in controversy however as Cena had Rusev in the STF using the top rope to apply pressure to the Bulgarian Brute who bagan screaming in another language.
This prompted Lana to climb into the ring and claim that Rusev quits therefore ending the match and meaning that she incurred the wrath of Rusev.
It was only a matter of time but one such viewer has translated the words bellowed out by Rusev in the final moments of the match and they make for an interesting read.
“Ahhh no…ahhh I give up! Next time we will crush you! I give up! Stop! I told you! I’ll crush you Cena! Damn your old mother, Cena! I will crush you! That’s enough, I told you.” - Rusev's final words
Despite not actually using the words I Quit to officially end the match, Rusev did submit and brought to an end his streak of never submitting since debuting on the main roster.
Shortly after the match both Rusev and Cena were involved in backstage segments with Rusev officially telling Lana to "get out" and seemingly ending their partnership.
As for Cena, he did a backstage interview with the main message being one of pride but also making a promise.
Cena announced that his weekly United States Championship open challenge will continue tonight on RAW meaning that it is anyone's guess who will be the man to next challenge Cena.
