Tony Romo gets completely destroyed by fans after joining Twitter

Published 2 Comments

Twitter has already revolutionised the world since it was created in 2006 and it still has a major impact on the world these days.

Often people will use it as a source for news, sports updates and of course sharing their opinions in 140 characters or less.

Twitter has been a key foundation in the development of globalization and it has arguably made the sporting world a lot better.

Fans can now interact with their favourite players and share their thoughts on the most recent developments with their teams.

However with everything that increases interactivity, comes the humorous side of the internet and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo has felt the full force of that in recent days.

Romo has recently joined the social media service and despite leading the Cowboys to a winning season last year, the fans weren't very kind.

Prior to the 2014 season, the Cowboys had endured three consecutive 8-8 seasons which led to Romo himself becoming a constant joke amongst internet users.

However his impressive year last year really turned things around in Dallas, but as good he, DeMarco Murray and Dez Bryant did last year on the field, they haven't saved Romo from ridicule.

Fans went back to the old jokes about Romo and lets face it, they really did troll the NFL quarterback perfectly.

Despite becoming the butt of many jokes on Twitter, Romo has proved that he is here to make a few controversial moments himself.

He has only tweeted twice so far but one has really gotten the internet talking and expecting big things from the quarterback's social media presence in the future.

Eyes on the prize?

It has certainly been a testing off-season for the Cowboys who managed to retain the services of Dez Bryant but haven't yet been able to lock him down to a long term contract.

They lost last years best rusher in the league as DeMarco Murray moved to the Philadelphia Eagles in free agency.

The Cowboys then made a stir by signing controversial former Carolina Panthers defensive lineman Greg Hardy and not creating any draft day controversy.

It is a big season coming up for the Cowboys who really need to win the battle over the Eagles for the NFC East divisional title.
