Real Madrid are desperate to get their hands on Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea this summer, if you don’t know that you’ve been living under a rock. What you might not know however is that Los Blancos aren’t keen to pay the £40 million United want for their Spanish number one and so are considering offering the services of Fabio Coentrao in a bid to lower the price. That’s the claim made by pro-Madrid newspaper Marca, who say Real will return with said proposal if United refuse to budge on their expected fee. De Gea for Coentrao… ehh, we’re not really feeling it. Elsewhere it’s been reported that Luke Shaw could feature for England’s U21s this summer, even though Van Gaal isn’t keen on the idea. The Dutchman can’t have any say on the matter if Shaw wants to play, so it’s very much a case of watch this space.
