Tom Brady has not had the greatest of off-seasons so far, to say the very least.
The New England Patriots star will miss the opening four games of the 2015 season for his role in the Deflategate scandal, as well as costing his team multiple draft picks and a $1million dollar fine that the Patriots are furious about.
Well things are seemingly only getting worse for the multiple Super Bowl winner, with hall of fame quarterbacks now getting on his back.
According to a report from Sal Maiorana of the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle, Buffalo Bills legend Jim Kelly was speaking during a book tour when he made some comments about Brady and the whole sorry saga.
“I thought it would be better just two games, but they gave him four,” Kelly said. “The initial reaction after hearing so many people talk about it, it would be different if the balls were checked and he already had it how he liked it and then it went to the officials and they OK’d or they just said, ‘No way."
“But it was the after fact; that after it left Tom and then left the officials, it was supposed to go right to the field — [they] went back and took more air out of it...When I saw the $1 million fine, the first and [fourth] round picks taken away, I was a little shocked," Kelly went on to add.
"Tom Brady is a good friend, but he doesn’t need to do that. He’s one of the greatest to ever play the game. So it was sad to see."
The Patriots are reportedly working with Roger Goodell to try and lessen the punishment somehow, but the damage is already done for New England's reputation following the Spygate scandal from the last decade and now this.
Brady will likely be hounded by this for the rest of his career - unless his ban is rescinded - and it isn't getting any easier following these quotes from Kelly and other accusations of cheating from former players throughout his career.
