With several changes having had to come into place ahead of the NXT live event this Wednesday evening, Triple H has hinted at the possibility of a huge surprise happening tonight.
Although it is common knowledge that, given his place within WWE, The Game is certainly not the person to turn to for a definite answer, he suggested some form of big shock at the NXT Takeover: Unstoppable event during a conference call.
What seems most likely is that someone unexpected will be making an appearance at the event, with names such as Samoa Joe and even John Cena being rumoured to be the most likely.
When discussing the chance of Samoa Joe making his WWE debut, Triple H, whose real name is Paul Levesque, had the following to say:
"He was here at the Performance Center a month or two ago...we only spoke for about five minutes, and that was mainly exchanging pleasantries..."Whether or not we do business together, I don’t know."
The other name which has been cropping up amongst reports hyping up a shock appearance is John Cena.
This discussion has come about following Kevin Owens making his WWE debut on Monday Night Raw this week by coming out to turn down John Cena's US Open Title Challenge offer.
The pair now have a match booked for the upcoming Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event on May 31, which makes a possible appearance by Cena at the NXT special event seem even more likely, given that it would increase the build-up for his match with current NXT champ Owens.
An interesting thought which has also come about is the likelihood of Cena interfering in Owens' main event match with long-term friend Sami Zayn, who faced Cena during his home town debut during Raw Montreal earlier this month.
Given Cena overcame Zayn as well as the fact the match having to be cut short because of the NXT star's shoulder injury which he sustained upon his entrance to the ring, it would be a big surprise if Cena were to have some kind of involvement which benefited the 30-year-old.
These rumours though, are of course just that as nothing has yet been confirmed and it is not out of the question for Triple H to be making minor suggestions even just to increase the hype leading up the event which will be screened exclusively on the WWE Network this evening.
It remains to be seen whether any of this speculation will come to fruition, but with a match card as exciting as what is on offer for the pay-per-view event this evening, we are sure to be in for an incredible show.
