Last night's NXT Take Over: Unstoppable show was amazing. From top to bottom, the card was great.
From Baron Corbin versus Rhino, to Finn Balor becoming the new number one contender to the NXT arrival of Samoa Joe, it was an outstanding show.
Best of the decade
But once again, the NXT Divas stole the show. Sasha Banks defended the NXT Women’s Championship against Becky Lynch in what will be called the best wrestling match of 2015, if not the last decade.
The two women put on a show worthy of the ages. Each bringing a level of intensity that is seemingly becoming the staple of NXT. The two focused on the submission game, working on each other’s left arms.
Becky Lynch brought a level intensity to this match that no one has ever saw in her, at one point , while on the floor, Lynch actually caught Sasha Banks in mid air flying through the ropes. Lynch would then slam Sasha onto the side of the stairs.
Sasha Banks would put a sickening armbar submission on Lynch that would be countered into a power bomb. Lynch would eventually put her armbar finisher on Banks, only for the latter to somehow manage to get to the ropes.
The action would continue to go back and forth until Becky Lynch attempted a top rope move that would be countered by a top rope backstabber by Sasha on Becky’s already injured left arm, which was instantly turned into her “Bank Statement” submission hold to win the match.
Win or lose, Becky Lynch should be proud of her performance. This was the best match on the entire card. Once both of these ladies make the move to the main roster, the Diva’s division will never be the same.
On this night, Becky Lynch earned the respect of the NXT Universe and will one day soon be the NXT Women’s Champion.
