Blues to hijack a planned Liverpool move for a Premier League forward

Published Add your comment

Chelsea may boast Diego Costa and Loic Remy to pick from for their frontline but Jose Mourinho is intent on acquiring another top striker this summer, at least that’s according to reports. The latest rumours suggest the Blues boss is interested in hijacking Liverpool’s planned move for Christian Benteke, despite the fact Aston Villa have him valued at a cool £30 million. The Belgium international is believed to be on a list of potential targets as Mourinho wants at least three forwards capable of seamlessly leading his line. There’s greedy and then there’s that, although Chelsea fans won’t be too bothered. Meanwhile more outrageous rumours suggest the Blues are content to allow Petr Cech to move to Arsenal if it means they can land one of either Theo Walcott or Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in return. The veteran stopper has been hotly tipped to move to north London, though apparently it won’t happen without Chelsea getting a fair bargain themselves.
