It’s no wonder Arsene Wenger is doing his best to publicly praise Theo Walcott given how frequently the England international’s been linked with an Emirates Stadium exit, and we can’t help but get the feeling all the schmoozing is happening in a bid to stop the winger from leaving. In a press conference just this morning Wenger praised Walcott’s mental strength, describing him as a special player who has overcome the tests he has faced. Will it be enough to keep the 26-year-old locked down in north London? Only time will tell. Elsewhere in club news Olivier Giroud has hit back angrily at Thierry Henry for suggesting he couldn’t lead Arsenal to a Premier League title. The Gunners legend questioned whether Wenger needed to buy in someone else to ensure his team were capable of winning major silverware, but Giroud has responded by calling him dull. Henry might know a thing or two about scoring goals, but surely that’s a bit harsh?
