Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has denied claims that Aaron Ramsey could be set to join Barcelona this summer.
As reported by ESPN, the Gunners chief, who is set to take charge of the club in their final Premier League game of the season against West Brom tomorrow afternoon, has insisted that if the Spanish giants want to sign one of his players, then they call him over any potential deal.
In fact, Wenger has insisted that any deal involving Ramsey to Barcelona isn't realistic, but it remains to be seen as to whether the Nou Camp outfit step up their interest in the Welshman anytime soon.
Wenger told reporters: "It is not realistic. Believe me, Barcelona know us well. They have gone through transfers with us. If they want someone they call me."
It's not entirely surprising that the La Liga champions have been linked with the midfield ace in recent time, however, as he continues to prove his credentials in north London.
For now, of course, Ramsey and Co. will be hoping to win their final league game of the campaign, before playing Aston Villa in the FA Cup final next weekend.
Ramsey is key
And, there's no doubt about it, as the Gunners go in search of long term success, Ramsey is a key man for the side.
Over the course of the past two years, the north London outfit have looked a far more balanced team with the Welshman starring in the middle of the park or out-wide. He offers the team so much: running up and down the field, he's both a creator and scorer of goals, so must be kept away from the Catalans.
At just 24-years-old, he has many, many big years in front of him, and can act as the catalyst for Wenger's side for the foreseeable future.
