Yaya Toure is facing a lengthy driving ban after being caught speeding at 124mph by police on Wednesday evening, reports The Sun.
The Ivory Coast international, who earns an astonishing £210,000-a-week at Manchester City, was pulled over on the M6 in Staffordshire whilst heading northwards to his Cheshire home.
It is not known what car Toure was driving but the same report claims it could have been any of his luxury vehicles including a "£280,000 Mercedes Brabus, a £100,000 Porsche Cayenne and a £110,000 Bentley GT".
He was given permission to continue his journey by police but has been ordered to bring his documents to a local police station within a week ahead of a court summons.
A source told The Sun that Toure did not understand the gravity of his crime and told police officers that "someone at the club will sort this out. They will get all the paperwork”.
A Staffordshire Police spokeswoman told the same report: “At around 8.40pm on Wednesday 20 May, officers stopped a vehicle travelling at 124mph on the northbound carriageway of the M6 between junctions 15 and 16.
“The driver, a 32-year-old man from Cheshire, will be reported for summons to appear at court on a future date.”
A family affair
Ironically, the news comes just a week after his brother, Kolo, was convicted of speeding twice in a week.
The Liverpool star managed to escape a fine after arguing that driving at normal speeds would have left him vulnerable to fan mobs.
Toure is likely to get an automatic ban after breaking the speed limit so spectacularly.
It gives the 32-year-old another reason to push through his prospective move to Inter Milan quickly.
