It was made official on Raw after Kevin Owens made an insane impact on John Cena, the statement is that Elimination Chamber, the United States Champion John Cena will be facing the current NXT Champion Kevin Owens.
Monday, the NXT Champion made it clear that he was not there to fight in John Cena’s Open Challenge. He made it clear that while he is a prizefighter, he will fight John Cena on his own terms.
After laying Cena out, fans watched as Renee Young got backstage comments with Owens who stated that The Authority gave him what he wanted and that is John Cena at Elimination Chamber.
Will Owens Win?
Is John Cena capable of beating Kevin Owens? Many believe he is not. Kevin Owens made one point very clear, he has more experience than Cena. Cena carries 12 years of WWE and OVW experience and that is it.
Meanwhile, Kevin Owens has 15 years. Owens is a former Ring of Honor World Champion. He carries mountains of legitimate wrestling experience with him.
John Cena is a former 15-time World Champion, current United States Champion, former Tag Team Champion, and an all around company guy. All John knows of the sport of professional wrestling is the WWE.
Yes, he has been in every type of match that WWE has in its repertoire and fought everyone in the process, but he has never fought anyone like Kevin Owens. Owens has a level of brutality that Cena has only seen in only one other person: Brock Lesnar.
On that same token, Kevin Owens has never fought anyone like John Cena. May 31st at Elimination Chamber, fans are going to get their monies worth with this match. Many ROH fans have dreamt of the day that Cena falls victim to Kevin Owens.
In the meantime, however, will this be the last time we see Owens on the main roster AFTER this match until his final call up? Or is this his getting called up? Either way, this is going to be a phenomenal match.
