According to reports in Italy, Premier League side Arsenal are showing interest in Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal.
The Chilean international has been strongly linked with a move away from Turin for the past season, with a trio of Premier League sides interested in luring him to England. Manchester United and Liverpool were both originally linked with signing the midfielder, but it's now Arsenal that are in pole position to sign the 28-year-old.
Vidal, who's been at Juventus since 2011 after moving from German side Bayer Leverkusen, has gone on to make over 100 Serie A appearances for The Old Lady, scoring 35 goals during his time, but with financial backing elsewhere, the midfielder could be seeking a move away from the club.
As well as Vidal, Juve are wary of losing Paul Pogba this summer, with several European giants interested in the Frenchman. According to reports, the Serie A champions want around £70 million for the powerhouse.
Not only will Juventus potentially lose Pogba and Vidal, they are also losing Andrea Pirlo who is set to leave at the end of the season for one last challenge in his career before his calls it a day.
It's believed that Juve are preparing to replace Pirlo with Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira, who is set to leave Real Madrid on a free transfer once his contract expires in June, but they would then be in the market for another centre-midfielder if they do lose either Pogba or Vidal.
The Chile international, who is set to go away for the Copa America this summer, has been strongly linked with Arsenal in recent days, with some reports even suggesting a deal has already been arranged for after the South American tournament.
It's claimed that the midfielder has agreed a four-year deal at the Emirates Stadium and that it will be announced once the Copa America ends. Vidal is best friends with Alexis Sanchez, who has had a superb debut season in north London, and The Gunners winger could be used to persuade the midfielder to join the club.
Arsenal Summer Plans
Arsenal are set to be busy in the summer window with a goalkeeper and midfielder high on their agenda. Morgan Schneiderlin and Petr Cech were the two expected to arrive throughout the pre-season, but it now looks like Vidal could be Arsene Wenger's preferred choice.
Vidal's agent, Fernando Felicevich, has recently travelled to London sparking speculation about his client's future.
The news will come as a massive blow to Liverpool who were showing interest in signing the Chile international as a potential replacement for Steven Gerrard, who is set for his MLS move this summer.
