The WWE has always been an environment in which injuries are common place. The risk of being sidelined or going under the knife for surgery comes part and parcel with the job description of being one of the organization's top Superstars.
2015, though, has been a near disastrous year so far for big name injuries with the likes of Daniel Bryan, Sami Zayn, Bray Wyatt and Goldust all dealing with serious issues.

PPV in doubt?
With the big name heel set to be involved in the Intercontinental title match at Elimination Chamber on Sunday - facing off against R-Truth, Sheamus, Dolph Ziggler and Bad News Barrett - WWE fans will have been hoping that the injury to the man they love to hate was simply for storyline purposes.
The image that has surfaced since though would suggest that Rusev might have to be ruled out of the high profile PPV altogether.
Initial reports from those present at the SmackDown taping in Wilkes-Barre, PA on Tuesday night noted that it looked like Rusev had hurt his ankle during the Ryback match. Depending on the severity of the issue that could mean a few months in recovery, rather than just a matter of days.
Although Rusev hasn't been given the push some WWE fans feel he deserves. the Brute has been impressing this year.
His long running feud with John Cena drew him praise despite a poor record against the veteran Superstar and it looked like WWE were planning a big storyline involving Rusev after his long-time partner, Lana, jumped ship to side with Dolph Ziggler.
That, and his PPV appearance, may have to be put on hold for now if the injury is as bad as it looks.
