Rafa Benitez looks set to take over the reigns at Real Madrid, as the club earlier this week decided to part company with Carlo Ancelotti after two years.
The Italian manager brought Los Blancos a total of four trophies during his stint in the Spanish capital, including the much fabled La Decima.
As expected, the rumour mills have been at full stretch concerning the next person to manage Los Blancos, with the names of several high profile managers being circulated around. The likes of former Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp, Napoli's Benitez and Sevilla's Unai Emery have all been linked to the Santiago Bernabeu hot seat.
Favourite for the job
It seems Benitez has emerged as the favourite to land arguably the most challenging football job however. Real president Florentino Perez earlier in the week asserted that it would be nice if the next Madrid manager could speak Spanish, which seemed to point to the fact that the Real supremo had his eyes on Benitez and Emery.
It seems though that Benitez has edged Emery, after the Napoli manager apparently confirmed that he will be leaving the men from Naples at the end of the season.
Benitez good enough?
Benitez's appointment will be met with mixed feelings; some fans will be glad that a Spanish manager will finally be at the realms of Los Blancos, others though will be wondering if Rafa's appointment is at all an upgrade on Ancelotti.
The whole world will be awaiting Perez's official announcement next week, so in the meantime let us know who you think will take charge of Real Madrid.
