Former Barcelona man Rafael Marquez has insisted that Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo doesn't deserve to win the 2015 Ballon d'Or.
As reported by Goal.com, Marquez has suggested that Ronaldo, who found the back of the net on 61 occasions in the 2014/15 campaign, failed to do as much as other throughout the course of this past season.
Ronaldo, despite his individual success, which included winning the La Liga Golden Boot award, wasn't able to inspire the Bernabeu outfit to domestic or European success.

Ultimately, Real, who axed boss Carlo Ancelotti this past week, only managed to secure a runners up spot in Spain's elite division, while they were dumped out of the Champions League at the semi-final stage.
Marquez, then, clearly doesn't think the Portuguese superstar has done enough to win a third successive Ballon d'Or, but has insisted that he has been one of football's greatest ever players.

Ronaldo to miss out?
Speaking to Goal, the ex-Barcelona man stated: "I think there are other players who have done a little more than Ronaldo to win the Ballon d'Or. But as he won the Pichichi he could potentially fight for it again.
"Ronaldo has an expiration date just like everyone else. I do not know how much longer he will last but he is one of the best players in football history.
"We have seen that Cristiano was unable to carry his team on some occasions, but that does not mean he was unimportant. He is a vital part of the Real Madrid side."
It will be close
Well, let's be honest, there's only one real contender to take away the prize Ronaldo has made his own over the course of the last couple of years.
That man, of course, is Lionel Messi. And the tricky Argentine, who last secured the award in 2012, may well secure the honour once again in the immediate future.
At the end of the day, despite having scored less goals than Ronaldo in La Liga last term, Messi inspired Barcelona to the title, while he could yet help them secure Champions League silverware next month. A winning goal in the final over Juventus may well give the Barcelona man the edge.
Time-and-time again this term, Messi has produced a number of outstanding displays, but Ronaldo will certainly expect to be in the running. One thing's for sure, it looks set to be another extremely close contest.
