Liverpool are the 6/4 favourites to sign Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure this summer.

Bookmakers SkyBet have the Reds ahead of the likes of Inter Milan, PSG and Co. as the player's long term future in the game remains uncertain.

There have been mixed signals from Toure's camp in recent months over his City future, despite him only signing a new four-year deal worth £200,000-a-week with the club back in 2013.

Of course, it's far from certain as to whether Brendan Rodgers and Co. will go about persuading Yaya to join the club's ranks in the upcoming window, but he may well be tempted to play alongside his brother next season.

Kolo Toure, of course, recently committed his future with the Merseyside outfit after signing a new one-year deal with the club.

Let's be honest, though, it's going to be extremely difficult for the Merseyside outfit to secure the player's signature in the upcoming window. At the end of the day, City don't have to sell, and it would be a bizarre move if they sold one of the top Premier League midfielders to their rivals.

If Liverpool really could sign the Ivorian this summer, then he'd make a remarkable signing for Rodgers and Co. as they go in search of immediate improvement after last season's debacle.

With the legs of Jordan Henderson, Adam Lallana and Co. on Merseyside, Toure would no doubt excel on the Anfield turf, but any deal appears to be some way off at this stage.
