It's been an incredibly exciting off-season for everyone associated with the Buffalo Bills.
They have a new head coach who could well be the man to propel them to the playoffs in Rex Ryan, as well as pretty much a brand new offense that includes star running back LeSean McCoy right in the center of it.
But it looked like the Bills weren't just happy with having McCoy on the roster, and a report from Sports Illustrated linked them to former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice. Yes, the same Ray Rice who everyone has seen on camera punching his fiance square in the face.
In the SI article published last week, an unnamed "high-level club executive" speculated that the Buffalo Bills could be a potential landing spot for Rice because coach Rex Ryan "loves" Rice from their time together in Baltimore, the executive said.
But the rumour linking the Bills to Rice has lasted a grand total of a couple days, with Buffalo today coming out and completely distancing themselves form Rice. According to a report from ESPN, a Bills source has revealed that there is no interest in the 28-year old.
It really wouldn't make sense for the Bills to even try and go after Ray Rice at this moment in time. They already have a well-stocked running back depth chart that includes veterans LeSean McCoy, Fred Jackson, Anthony Dixon and Bryce Brown, as well as fifth-round rookie Karlos Williams out of Florida State.
Buffalo are also incredibly short on cap space as well, with the signing of Rice being a luxury they really couldn't afford.
Then there is the incredible debate that would have to be had at every level of the franchise, with team President's and CEO's weighing up if they would want a man who viciously assaulted a woman representing them.
