During Jameis Winston's young football career many people have had many different things to say about him; some good, and some not so good.
The former Florida State Seminoles quarterback has come in for criticism for his off-field antics, but it sounds like he is impressing those that really matter come game day - his new Tampa Bay Buccaneers teammates.
But, while Winston will be happy to hear one of his guys go on record to praise him today, the fact that they used much maligned QB and Florida alumni, Tim Tebow, in their comparison may draw some odd looks.

Speaking on Sirius XM Radio, veteran wide receiver Louis Murphy revealed he sees a certain similarity between the young Winston and Tebow - the man who used throw to Vincent during their time together at the University of Florida:
"I just saw how much of a competitor he is. He competes. He doesn't like losing. He wants to win and that's a guy I want to play with. He's young, kind of similar to Tim Tebow in a way, he just wants to win."

Vincent, responding to a question concerning Jameis Winston's checkered past, went on to suggest it is the young QB's will to win that has shone through:
"He'll do anything it takes to win. But he's young, everyone makes mistakes...I'm just really excited to be with a guy who is really passionate about playing this game."
Aside from their competitive nature a comparison between Tim Tebow and Jameis Winston is hard to put forward.
Winston has been widely praised for his accurate throwing, whilst Tebow is notorious in his scatter-gun style - so much so that the fact he'd shown some improvements in his technique was deemed headlines news recently.
Then there is the off-field aspect. Winston has theft, rape allegations and acts of immaturity in his past whilst Tebow has never had any issues away from the field (all of his have been on the gridiron.)
Both, though, did enjoy success at the college level. They have three National Championships between them as well as two Heisman trophys. Unfortunately for Tebow, bar a playoff game win in Denver, his time in the pros has paled in comparison. Jameis Winston will be hoping his Tebow-like will to win won't lead to a similar NFL career path.
