After watching the smooth shooting stroke of Stephen Curry, it's easy to see how the apple does not fall that far from the tree, as those veteran NBA fans will be able to tell you his father was Del Curry was a smooth shot himself in his own playing days.
But when looking at the shooting skills of Klay Thompson, one is not immediately taken aback to the career of his father, Mychal Thompson, a 7 footer with reasonable range for a big man but certainly no bomber like his son.
The 6ft.10 inch Mychal was primarily a banger down low on the blocks but did win back to back titles with the Lakers teams of the mid-eighties. Klay, on the other hand is an incredible shooter with outstanding range.
The two together will pose quite a threat and challenge to the Cleveland defense when they meet in the upcoming NBA Finals.
The favored Warriors are sharp from the outside, shooting 53% from the field as a team. Led by Curry (58%) and Thompson (55%) they are going to be a tough project for the Cavs defense to handle.
Something has to give
The Cavs are 13th in the league in points allowed at 98.7 ppg. Cleveland is by far the best defensive team thus far in these playoffs which has contributed greatly to their success. Similar to the immovable object vs.the irresistible force, something has to give, though, when they come up against Golden State.
No matter how one breaks it all down, this should shake out as one of the best series in years.
So crank up the hype and get out the popcorn, because the brothers Splash will be trying to remove a crown from the head of the king as LeBron James attempts to show some defensive prowess and separate himself from the pack once again.
