We begin in the NFL and San Diego Chargers fans have been dealt some terrible news. Star safety Eric Weddle had been hoping to extend his contract with the AFC West franchise this offseason, but the team revealed today that they will not discuss new terms prior to the start of the upcoming campaign. This leaves the distinct possibility that Weddle will leave San Diego after the upcoming season and hit the free agency market. Sticking with the NFL and Denver Broncos have come to terms with rookie linebacker Shane Ray, who signed a four-year deal worth $9 million on Monday. And finally in the NBA, the Cleveland Cavaliers are sweating over the fitness of star point guard Kyrie Irving ahead of the NBA Finals. The Cavs will take on Golden State Warriors in the big showdown, starting on Thursday night, but Irving is still struggling with tendinitis in his left knee.
