Samoa Joe hasn't taken long to make an impression on the WWE Universe.
After making his much rumored debut in the organization during the recent NXT:TakeOver Unstoppable event last month, Joe has quickly imposed his well-known style on WWE.
But, whilst the WWE hierarchy must have been delighted to see a new arrival make such a big initial impact, the fact he isn't on an exclusive WWE deal may have been worrying them. That could all have changed now, though, according to new reports.
According to PWTorch.com, citing a source from within the company, the WWE have moved quickly to upgrade Samoa Joe to a full-time contract.
This decision, the report claims, is based on the wrestler's impressive early NXT tapings as well as the bigger than expected merchandise sales for the character.
In the days following Samoa Joe's NXT debut we brought you the news that his initial WWE contract meant the Superstar was free to work with any other promotion of his choosing - thus suggesting it might take some time for his WWE career to really explode as he couldn't be counted on for consistent appearances.
Instead, whilst Joe will still fulfil a number of indie wrestling dates he has already committed too, this latest move by the powers that be would suggest that Samoa Joe is set for a big push into full-time regular storyline work much sooner than the WWE first anticipated.
WWE or NXT?
With Samoa Joe having proven down the years to be an elite level performer this can only be a good thing, regardless of whether his full-time work comes in NXT or WWE.
If it comes in the development brand then Samoa Joe will be able to help a number of rising stars reach the very top that little bit quicker. While, if Joe is pushed to the main roster in the coming weeks, it means Raw, SmackDown and all upcoming PPVs just got a while lot more interesting.
Judging by Samoa Joe's recent social media activity, seen below, it looks like he has big plans for his full-time future.
Despite numerous publications running with this story it is perhaps important to stress that the WWE themselves have not made the contract upgrade official as of yet.
