The Minnesota Vikings would have been hoping to fly under the radar this off-season, ahead of the 2015 season.
The Vikings weren't allowed that however, as the Adrian Peterson saga has completely dominated all of the headlines surrounding the team and whether or not he would try to force his way out of Minnesota.
But, today it was revealed that Peterson would be coming back to work out with the team, and Peterson went on to reveal why he returned.
Just Wanted To
Peterson and Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer spoke to the media today after it was revealed that AP would return, and Peterson finally decided to tell everyone why he made his big u-turn today.
He was also happy to see the familiar faces in the locker room; he explained that he returned now because “I just wanted to.”
Peterson admitted that, at one point during the process, he was much less certain. “With everything going on in my life during that time, I really didn’t know what I wanted,” Peterson said.
It seems that he does now, however. “I’m happy with where I’m at, here with the Minnesota Vikings. . . . I’m trying to accomplish the ultimate goal, and that’s bringing a championship to Minnesota," he went on to add.
This is the best news that the Vikings could have possibly hoped for. Having Peterson back in the team makes them a much better side, with an offense that has the potential to be incredibly exciting next season.
Teddy Bridgewater is coming off an Offensive Rookie of the Year season in 2014 and is one of the best young quarterbacks in the league who could make massive strides now that he has got better players around him.
Those better players include the return of tight end Kyle Rudolph back to full fitness and the acquisition of star wide receiver Mike Wallace, one of the fastest men in the league who gives the Vikings a playmaker like no other. Then there is Charles Johnson, the card up the sleeve for Mike Zimmer.
