Stone Cold Steve Austin's relationship with the WWE has been strained at best over the last several months.
There were plenty of rumors pre-WrestleMania 31 that Austin would show up in a non-wrestling capacity but that didn't end up coming to fruition.
It would be easy to think nothing of Austin not turning up, but reports around the time actually confirmed that the former superstar only chose to snub Mania due to the breaking down of his relationship with Vince McMahon.
Austin was desperate to get his hands on the WWE Network's podcast, but McMahon instead chose to offer the spot to Chris Jericho.
Despite clearly being angered by WWE's decision, it is understood that Austin is still interested in working with the wrestling company competitively one last time, according to reports.
On his own podcast this week the WWE legend revealed that he could destroy former Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar.
Austin was quizzed by Paul Heyman about the prospect of facing Lesnar, and while Austin didn't agree to do the match, there remains a real possibility that the two could face off at next year's WrestleMania in Texas.
"During Steve Austin's podcast with Paul Heyman tonight, Heyman asked if Austin wants to fight Lesnar at WrestleMania. Austin said he would beat Lesnar's ass," NoDQ reported on Tuesday.
"He said he's not saying he's going to, but they both know how it would go down. Heyman gave him the big sell for doing the match in Texas. Austin then mentioned that he would have to think about it."
