A video has emerged today appearing to show a prankster from Castle Bromwich, Birmingham on the phone to Christian Benteke's agent Eris Kismet.
The video seems to confirm all Aston Villa fans' worst nightmare that their top striker is on his way out.
Eris Kismet was fooled into thinking that the prankster, who's real name is Ty Bracey, was actually Liverpool manager Brendan Rogers.
During the two minute video Eris Kismet is heard to say that he will do everything legally possible to force a move out the club.
He also insisted Benteke will not sign a new contract with Villa as he wants to play European football.
Some key quotes from the video are as follows:
Prankster: "Kismet, obviously there is a lot of media speculation going on at the moment. Does he (Benteke) have a buy out clause at the moment? I hear it is £32,000,000?"
Kismet: "Regarding all that kind of stuff I would prefer not to talk over the phone, But the one thing I can tell you for sure is that Christian will do everything possible legally to leave. It is not because he is not happy at Aston Villa it is because he wants to play European football."
Prankster: "Kismet, off the record, has he received any offers from anyone in the premier league?"
Kismet: "No, not yet."
Why did he do it?
Ty Bracey has said in an interview published in a local newspaper that he did this because all Villa fans should know what is happening with their star player.
So, what do you think Villa fans?.
Would you keep him after the agent has spoken like this?
It is understood that Kismet will be telling Benteke to resolve this straight away and talk to the media. Probably to say that no contract talks have started yet and he has not declined contract talks.
