WWE have announced that, merely three weeks after Money in the Bank, they will once again be doing a Network exclusive event, this time live from Japan.
Not only that, but four matches have already been announced, with the headliner seeing Finn Balor take on Kevin Owens for the NXT Championship.
This has widely been described as a fantastic booking from WWE given how big Balor was in Japan in his Prince Devitt days, and he could also finally be the one to take the title away from Kevin Owens.
This event is just two weeks before Battleground and would allow Owens to face John Cena for a third time, this time with the United States Championship on the line.
A new press release stated that Owens will be a part of both rosters for the foreseeable future, but allowing Owens to drop the title to someone like Balor in a place where he is heavily cheered allows not only a rematch, but Owens the ability to go for a main roster title after.
This isn't the only match announced for the night though, as The New Day defend their tag team championships against Tyson Kidd and Cesaro.
This could inadvertently have just revealed that The New Day will retain at Money in the Bank, but don't read too much into it because all cards are subject to change. And a rematch could see The New Day regain the titles in the weeks leading up to the event as well.
There is also a second tag match on the card that sees John Cena and Dolph Ziggler take on King Barrett and Kane, which is a strangely thrown together match because neither team has had any interaction as of yet. It will be interesting to see if this is built up or if it's a spur of the moment thing.
The biggest shock of the night will see Kofi Kingston take on former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar. The beast is set for a return for Battleground but no one was aware that he was doing live events.
Given that Kofi is now part of The Authority, this allows either a set up for a beat down if Lesnar returns as a face, or a pretty quick squash match. It also means that Big E and Xavier Woods will be the ones defending the tag title earlier in the night.
Superstars including Hideo Itami, Chris Jericho, The Lucha Dragons, Paige, Neville, and Nikki Bella have all also been announced as appearing with Jericho rumoured to be going after Lesnar.
This will be an interesting one to watch as it heads towards the July 4th American Celebrations, it will be interesting to see how WWE make this night memorable.
